When it comes to “linguistic gymnastics” there are few better examples than the 2A Debate. What does the 2nd Amendment say and what does it mean?

BATFE Ammo Scare Concession… What’s It All About?
So, the BATFE has rescinded their proposal on banning M855 ammunition and everyone is celebrating a great victory. I will be the first to say; getting people organized and taking the battle to the enemy (BATFE) in numbers great enough to influence them, is a great step in the right direction. Although, if you haven’t read my article; BATFE: Infringing on our rights again? maybe you should. As I said in this article; was this initial decision by the BATFE simply a “gun control” issue or was there some other underlying objective we weren’t seeing? I lend a quote from B. R. Ambedker that speaks volumes:
House members saying NO to ammo ban
We’ve all heard the “hype” regarding the BATFE’s prattling about banning the M855 ammunition. It comes as no surprise to me that Eric Holder is in large part responsible for the attempts at these reverse engineered gun control tactics, but it does come as a surprise that the majority of House members are voicing opinions to the contrary.
In what seems unprecedented numbers, more than half the members of the House are signing a letter (initiated by Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-VA) opposing the BATFE’s measures. Maybe our politicians are getting the message? Maybe they are seeing the “true” intentions of this administration? Maybe Eric Holders stated shortcomings; “I take personally as a failure to the inability to pass gun control.” has hit home in the minds of our House members? Whatever the reasons for this seemingly new found patriotism, I’m in full support at their attempt to make Holder a complete failure.
Gun Control: The Real War on Women

Apparently, the gun control advocates, Moms Demand Action, Bloomberg, and Gabby Giffords’ husband, and all their progeny, are tired of the emotional manipulation of saying, “Think of the children!” Their new strategy is telling us, “Think of the women!”
Read the statements, dripping with hypocritical misinformation, now being slathered into the mouths of mainstream media about how “preventing gun violence” (aka, GUN CONTROL) is necessary to protect women. It portrays the image that domestic violence is not only implemented by guns, but probably caused by the evil mind-bending influence of guns. (Some off them think violent abusers would probably have been sweet and kind had they never bought that evil pistol.) Oh, if only we had “sensible” gun laws, women would be protected from abuse!
They utterly ignore the fact that the law and law enforcement have almost no way to protect people from violent domestic abusers or stalkers and that a having a gun, with the training to use it, is the best possible protection a woman could have. Attackers can inflict their violence no matter what the gun laws; whether the abusers use other implements of violence, or get illegal guns. The silver lining in this latest chapter of their assault on our rights is that it shines a clear light on a hidden truth of their gun control. That it is, in many aspects, hideously anti-woman.
