Southern Poverty Law Misfires

We want to make it perfectly clear that we will not stand for such insinuations. While our name may be harsh sounding to some, it represents our resolve in our advocacy; and our message is clear. We do not, nor will we ever, advocate armed insurrection against our government. Our position, which has been clearly stated repeatedly, is that change must come through the tools put in place by our Founders and as Patriots the only justifiable use of force is in defense against violent unlawful aggression. We regularly work too quell the revolutionary passions that some of our followers express and ban those who will not listen to reason. In my e-booklet, “Gun Sense: Past, Present and Future”, the future section specifically deals with how we handle the gun rights debate going forward and bloody revolution is not an option.

Just to be clear, the particular graphic that Mr. Bourque shared from our page was a satirical statement on the absurdity of the gun control mentality, which was shared by nearly 100,000 Facebook users. There is also nothing about our group or our advocacy that is anti-police or anti-military. We do take issue with the attempts to disarm citizens and militarize law enforcement. That being said, we fully support all who serve. We even recently released an entire series of vinyl decals honoring our public servants of all types, police, fire, EMS as well as all branches of the military. It would require very minimal research into our advocacy and our writings to see that there is nothing that we stand for that could be in anyway interpreted to justify or support this carnage and needless loss of life.

On behalf of Cold Dead Hands and our followers, I offer my sincerest condolences to all of our Canadian brothers and sisters touched by this evil. Our prayers go out for those lost, those injured and the families left behind. I cannot find strong enough words to condemn Mr. Bourque’s actions, they are reprehensible, reckless and purely evil. To anyone who follows our work, if you agree with or support the actions this man took, the lives he took or think that it was justified in any manner, please remove yourself from our page and any association with us at all. In closing, I will simply say to Southern Poverty Law Center, Shame on you for such reckless association, lazy reporting and failure to even do minimal research. It is a slap in the face to those who have been hurt by this rampage for you to make such careless inferences.

Jon Britton aka DoubleTap is Chief Operating Officer of CDH, Inc., a regular contributing author and regularly involved in most aspects of their social media. “Writing was never a goal or even vaguely contemplated as a career choice, it just happened, an accidental discovery of a talent and a passion.” A passion that has taken him in many directions from explorations of the zombie subculture and zombie stories to political advocacy. Joining the U.S. Air Force right out of high school, Jon had the opportunity to experience many different parts of the world and different cultures. His post military career path, both white collar and blue collar, allowed him to work alongside both CEOs and average Joes. As a founding member Cold Dead Hands his study of human nature and writing ability found a purpose. His zombie roots provided a variety of issues from prepping to human behavior under crisis to firearms that he applies to his advocacy for gun rights. A ravenous appetite for the study of history combined with his current events political junkie addiction led to him writing an e-book Gun Sense: Past, Present and Future.
