Should Kids Be Allowed To Access Firearms With Supervision?

In 2nd Amendment, Conservatism, Politics, Rants by Patrick JamesLeave a Comment

How many of us safely handle firearms every day? How many of us do so around children? As a firearms owner it is my responsibility to ensure that my firearm is accounted for and either stored safely or in my possession at all times. There is no if, ands or buts about this. My firearm, my responsibility. However, there are a couple of instances in the news right now regarding children in possession of firearms. Not only did they have possession of the firearms, but they brought them into school unbeknownst to their parents. Thankfully no one was injured in either situation.

Universal Federal Concealed Carry Permit Bill

In 2nd Amendment, Concealed Carry, Conservatism, Constitution, Politics by Patrick JamesLeave a Comment

Two versions of a concealed carry permit? Yes, this could be a possibility for North Carolina if Senator Tarte’s proposed Senate Bill 708 “Homeland Security Unrestricted Concealed Handgun Permit” passes. Currently, North Carolina has a concealed carry permit requires a basic course (like most states) that one has carry restrictions (such as schools, government buildings, and any facility that has a ‘no guns allowed’ sign). The proposed second type of permit would require a more extensive training course, as well as a psychological assessment conducted by a physician. If this passes enhanced permit holders would be able to carry on school campuses as well. The only place off limits would be courtrooms.

A Woman’s Place in the Firearms Industry

In 2nd Amendment, Articles, Concealed Carry, Conservatism, Firearms Industry, Firearms Reviews by Patrick JamesLeave a Comment

Are you as sick of hearing about women’s right as I am? I’m a strong believer of no matter who you are, if you want it, go out and get it, and don’t stop until you achieve it. It doesn’t matter if you are a man or a woman. There is only a ceiling if you believe there to be one. There are no boundaries that women can’t break down in the professional world. Am I going to get flack for saying this? Probably. Do I care? Not one bit.

Was Michelle Manhart Wrong To Protect The Flag?

Michelle Manhart Protects US Flag

Michelle Manhart has become the darling of patriotism for her defense of the flag at Valdosta State University, but is she really? As an Air Force veteran, one would think she would understand the 1st amendment freedom of expression. You see the Supreme Court has ruled that flag desecration is protected free speech. Of course, the Supreme Court has also ruled that SOME pornography is protected free speech, so as a former Playboy model, Michelle Manhart should be well aware of the concept. Freedom of speech and expression are rights and freedoms that we all share whether we agree with the views expressed or the form that the free expression takes.

Tim McGraw: An Anti-Gun Liberal With A Conservative Audience

In Articles, Conservatism, Current Events by Patrick JamesLeave a Comment

Three days ago Breitbart News reported that country singers Tim McGraw and Billy Currington would be headlining a gun control fundraiser for Sandy Hook Promise on July 17. The backlash from their fans was considerable when it was reported that concert beneficiary Sandy Hook Promise “is a vehicle through which various relatives of Sandy Hook victims have joined to push gun control until it passes.”

What Is Constitutional Carry?

2nd Amendment Poster

Back in the day, all the pro-gun buzz surrounded states passing “Right To Carry” or concealed carry legislation, but the conversation recently has taken a decidedly different turn. Now that all 50 states have some concealed carry laws that allow citizens to carry in public, some obviously better than others, the conversation has shifted from the “right to carry” to the “FREEDOM to carry” also referred to as Constitutional Carry. So, What is Constitutional Carry? Surprisingly most people haven’t got a clue what it is and the name is rather misleading, so let’s take a closer look.

We’re Right, They’re Wrong… PERIOD!

When some arrogant progressive like Bob Beckel says something asinine like “Explain to me why the republicans are sticking up for millionaires?” WHY, WHY, WHY doesn’t someone, anyone, have balls enough to say; “BECAUSE WE DON’T PUNISH SUCCESS, F’TARD!”  Instead, they usually say something equally ignorant and whiny like “Oh Bob, We don’t!” Or they start babbling off some ridiculous string of complicated statistics.  This isn’t rocket science, people.  We’re right, they’re wrong… PERIOD.

We believe in freedom and personal achievement; they want choice limited to what is fair so nobody is allowed to fail and learn from their mistakes.  We promote personal initiative; they get a bully mob to try and force slackers to the top.  We live by the sovereignty of the states governed by The Constitution, they want to do away with that and be governed by a foreign global power.  We have stuck by our principles. We haven’t changed since the day the Declaration of Independence was signed.  We are REPUBLICans, for the Republic; where the individual’s rights are protected from the whims of the mob.  They are for democracy, obsessed with the majority rule, where the whims of the bully mob trample the rights of the individual.

Enemies of the Republic

If you are like me, you may see the state our country is in and recognize we are in decline. You have a firm belief that we are going in the wrong direction, the more left we turn away from our origins that Founded our country. Perhaps you feel so badly about the situation our government is in that you can’t see any daylight and believe we are witnessing the final years of our great nation, and it will soon end in calamity. I can’t argue any of that, and in fact I agree strongly enough that I write a fiction series based on it that I pray won’t become an example of life imitating art.

Some things should be obvious to you, that you should have the right to earn an income and provide for your family the way you want, and keep them safe from threats of criminal aggression. That taking the means of defense away is an act of tyranny. That the government does not have any lawful authority to take these Rights from you.
Among the natural rights of the Colonists are these: First, a right to life; Secondly, to liberty; Thirdly, to property; together with the right to support and defend them in the best manner they can. These are evident branches of, rather than deductions from, the duty of self-preservation, commonly called the first law of nature. ~Samuel Adams

Gun Control: The Real War on Women

In Conservatism by Patrick JamesLeave a Comment

Apparently, the gun control advocates, Moms Demand Action, Bloomberg, and Gabby Giffords’ husband, and all their progeny, are tired of the emotional manipulation of saying, “Think of the children!” Their new strategy is telling us, “Think of the women!”

Read the statements, dripping with hypocritical misinformation, now being slathered into the mouths of mainstream media about how “preventing gun violence” (aka, GUN CONTROL) is necessary to protect women. It portrays the image that domestic violence is not only implemented by guns, but probably caused by the evil mind-bending influence of guns. (Some off them think violent abusers would probably have been sweet and kind had they never bought that evil pistol.) Oh, if only we had “sensible” gun laws, women would be protected from abuse!

They utterly ignore the fact that the law and law enforcement have almost no way to protect people from violent domestic abusers or stalkers and that a having a gun, with the training to use it, is the best possible protection a woman could have. Attackers can inflict their violence no matter what the gun laws; whether the abusers use other implements of violence, or get illegal guns. The silver lining in this latest chapter of their assault on our rights is that it shines a clear light on a hidden truth of their gun control. That it is, in many aspects, hideously anti-woman.

Stop the hate – Educate!

Stop The Hate. Educate

As an outspoken advocate for liberty and Constitutionally protected rights, the 2nd Amendment in particular, I hear all the anti-gun/gun control arguments on a daily basis. It is sad that most of the arguments against guns and gun rights are easily rebutted, but are seldom heard. Those driven to ban guns, restrict ownership or impose the infamous “common sense regulations” are driven by two basic things, fear and hate.

The fear that drives many opponents to gun rights is born of ignorance. Let me stop here and define “ignorance” so that people don’t misread this as a slur. Ignorance is a lack of knowledge or information. Those who do not have any first-hand knowledge regarding firearms tend to fear them. When you couple that lack of knowledge with the smorgasbord of MIS-information that permeates the media, it is no wonder that people fear firearms. Unfortunately, that fear often turns to hate and that is when things get ugly. Law-abiding gun owners are routinely demonized, simply because they own a product/tool that is both completely legal to own and specifically protected under the Bill Of Rights of the Constitution. Those facts are lost on people consumed by fear and hate.
