Do Unto Others; Morality and Our Natural Rights

As the black coffee flows this morning, as it has many mornings in the past, my mind ponders all that is going on in our lives. From the continued viral quarantine that’s had many cooped up inside their own little worlds, to the political drama unfolding; live and in color, via extremely biased news sources. I’m drawn to thoughts of our Founders and the government they tried to create for us. I pray that you follow along with my Black Coffee Perspective, as we take a look at Morality and our Natural Rights. Do Unto Others…

A Constitutional Republic with protected sovereign rights. What an amazing concept that must’ve been for the times. Our Founders and Framers embarked upon the journey of creating the most perfect form of government known to man, at the time. Creating what is considered a perfect form of self-governance. Young men with lofty ambitions, risked everything to win our independence, forming a government FOR and BY the people. One that carried no guarantees of success… just opportunities.

They forged a government that would require, no DEMAND that its people remain self-aware, responsible, self-reliant, fair and just. The form of governance they created, requires true morality to the natural rights of others. It demands that we ALL; Do Unto Others as we would have them do unto us… but only if it was to work as they intended.

They never intended for the people of this country to become dependent upon its government. They encouraged ALL us to remain “eternally vigilant” and guard against those who would seek to usurp our natural-born, Creator bestowed, unalienable rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

I do contend that these men were NOT perfect people. Nor were they creating it for a perfect people. We the People, have never been perfect. We have come a long way, since the days of our Founders. Learning A LOT over the years from past transgressions. We’ve persevered and overcome much. Yet here we are today; a hollow shell of our former selves, begging for the crumbs of the rich while accepting whatever they will give us.

They are creating a fearful people, out of the once bold and fearless, so they can manipulate for “the greater good” of the many, or so they say. Unfortunately, they’ve trampled upon the rights of the individual in the process. They needed to feed the monster with trillion-dollar bills, y’all. Everyone of them cashed off the backs of every working person in this Nation.

Harsh and fervent self-reflection is now required to see that we have all fallen prey to the corruption. A duplicity so severe that it is destroying the fabric that has bound this country’s people, united. There are those who have fallen deeper into a complacent slumber while some have tried to remain vigilant and productive. But at the end of the day; we have all been swayed by smooth-talk and dreams. Truth be told; WE ARE ALL TO BLAME.

I don’t know if we can ever unwind the effects of the democratic social progressivism that has been inserted into our Federalist Constitutional Republic. I doubt we will ever see the day when we can all truly live by the Golden Rule. The hearts of man were corrupted, long before our country was formed. For a short time we managed to maintain control over those with subversive hearts, electing people who cared about us and the Republic for which it stands.

Today, many who have been elected live in “ivory towers”, far above us… ruling from disenfranchised and disassociated positions. It’s a place where common sense isn’t very common, anymore. They have no idea what it takes to live like an “average” American, yet they create rules and laws for us to live by. They believe themselves to be above us… not equal to us. Telling us to; do as I say, not as I do. Like a tyrant King atop their golden thrones.

Can we ever find our way back to the true intent of our Founders? There are many who still have the heart for it, and many more who try to live by the laws that uphold it. Unfortunately the tides are slowly shifting, giving weigh to the corruptible… and they are hungry for more, shouting; Give us Barabbas.

I’m not intending to make you more fearful of what is happening around us. The virus is real… and it can be deadly. Should our government have FORCED us into quarantine, for our own good? Was there duplicity in this most recent election? Should they be impeaching a past President? All good questions, but we must ask ourselves; Are we all inexperienced children, needing the guidance of parents? Do we need them to force feed common sense, when they have nothing in common with us?

Nobody knows all the answers, but I damn sure know I don’t NEED another set of parents to tell me what to do, or how and when I can do it. I live within the limits of the natural laws. I am a respecter of the natural rights of others and I try to live every day by the words of Matthew 7:12

“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”

There are many things wrong with our current, modern government. Nuances that hide the deception. Semantics in verbiage used to step their way through the linguistic gymnastics that change the context of the truths highlighted within our founding documents. The truths within the natural rights and laws bestowed upon ALL of us equally.

Will we ever find our way? I believe that we can, but before it happens, we all need to find, define and reemphasize those truths. They are the ones our foundation was built upon. Then we need to stand united upon those truths devoid of race, religion or creed.

Listen, as I always say at the end of every post; “I’m just an imperfect guy, living in an imperfect world, trying to serve a perfect Master.”

A Master who held much sway over our Founders. A Christ who understood the world and the people living in it. One who came as the son of man and departed the Son of God. Bestowing upon all of us; life, liberty, freewill and the possibility of eternal life with Him, regardless of our station in life. Completely irrelevant of our unworthiness, He gave us all grace and a path to salvation through His death and resurrection. All we needed to do was become equal respecters of others via the Golden Rule, ask His forgiveness and be willing to serve Him, unconditionally.

I know some will believe those words, but many will not. There has been many jaded by the hypocrisies of the church, but I assure you; I am not talking about religion or a corrupt church as you have been led to understand them. I’m talking about my Master. I’m talking about the “Keep It Simple, Stupid” relationship with Him.

“Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3 (esv)

This type of relationship commands all of us to self-reflect upon our past (not dwelling upon past mistakes), but using them to become better people tomorrow, than we were the day before. With a childlike faith, I encourage you to find your own relationship with Him… on your own terms. My relationship will likely be different than yours (it’s called personal for a reason), but similar in relation to the rights and laws of man as defined by our Creator.

When you seek Him… He will show you the way. He will give you the confidence to LIVE A FEARLESS, COMPASSIONATE LIFE.

Thanks for following along with my perspective today… I hope you have a blessed and profitable rest of the day. If you haven’t had the chance to watch the first episode of The Chosen, I encourage all of you to do so. The first episode is free. Most of you have the time, so use it to enhance and enrich your mind with something worthy. Here’s the link to it;

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

“…this Country will be the most miserable Habitation in the World. Because We have no Government armed with Power capable of contending with human Passions unbridled by morality and Religion. Avarice, Ambition, Revenge or Gallantry, would break the strongest Cords of our Constitution as a Whale goes through a Net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other” ~ John Adams in a letter to the Massachusetts Militia, Oct 11, 1798
